Flew home yesterday from another exciting trip to Indy in the "month of May". It was great to see my brother and his wife along with there now nine month old daughter. My brother in law also joined Janelle and I this year and I think he had a great time. Coming from a rainy Seattle to a 90 degree plus humid climate was quite a change. I prefer the weather here in the pacific northwest.
This trip we were treated to the musical styling's of ZZ Top on Carb Day along with some "sliders" at White Castle and the mandatory chili dogs at Skyline. Yum!
Race day brought the traditional favorites, Florence Henderson singing God Bless America followed by Jim Nabors and Back Home Again in Indiana. Still get goose bumps every time. With Jack Nicholson waving the green flag, the 94th running saw Dario Franchitti dominate the race leading 155 of the 200 laps. Here is a picture I found online of the winning driver, his wife and their two dogs.

Even though I picked Dario to win I was hoping that Tony Kanaan could pull it out. Starting last in 33rd, TK passed 8 cars on the first lap and worked his way to the 2nd spot behind Dario but had to pit with just a few laps remaining. What a great effort from one of the best drivers in the league.
Just like that its June. Summer will be here in just a couple of weeks and looking forward to seeing a concert with my wife this month along with Dream Theater and Iron Maiden a week after that. I'm actually going to see DT twice. Sweet!

Many thanks to my amazing wife for taking to this thing called Indy. When we first came together in 2008 she wasn't quite sure what to make of these cars driving around at 22o mph in a circle but she took to it like the rubber meeting the road. I love to travel with her and sharing something that means so much to me is the best feeling. Janelle, I love you!
